Oregon has become the latest state to pass remote online notarization (RON) legislation. This grants 40,000 notaries access to technology for serving signers in a safer and more secure way.

Governor Kate Brown signed House Bill 4212 on June 30. However, the enrolled bill did not specify an effective date.

The continued expansion of RON legislation reflects the growing acceptance of remote online notarization as a secure and convenient way to conduct notarial acts.
