Over the course of the pandemic, more than a dozen states expanded authorization or created temporary allowance of remote online notarization, which unlocked a new era of digital transformation for businesses, and thousands of companies asked Notarize for technology for their employees to perform remote online notarizations. How It Works and Why It’s Always Compliant
A business employee logs into Notarize and sends a document to be notarized via a secure email link to the signer. The signer clicks the link and is prompted to prove their identity with knowledge based authentication in the Notarize platform. A notary employee will meet the signer in an online meeting to complete the notarization digitally. Afterward, the completed document is automatically sent to the signer and also stored in the business' account. The platform also automatically stores details of the notarization in a notary journal for record-keeping.
The Notarize platform adheres to remote online notarization laws for businesses with notaries physically located in thirteen states. We manage the legal complexities, so businesses don’t have to.
