Day in and day out — during the holiday season and beyond — Notarize supports signers through some of life’s most important moments. It’s the foundation upon which we were built and has remained both the driving force for our continued growth and the shared mission that has proved meaningful to our team, our partners, and our broader community.

A great deal of that meaning and its impact is derived from a shared commitment to solving problems that matter.

In an effort to help do just that, Notarize is proud to donate $5,000 to Bridging Tech in support of its 2022 Holiday Campaign. The donation will provide 50 new laptops to K-12 students across the U.S. affected by homelessness and poverty in an effort to help bridge the digital divide and address inequitable access to education and learning.

Bridging Tech was founded by Stanford University students Isabel Wang and Margot Bellon, who noticed an urgent need for accessible technology and educational opportunities at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The organization's primary focus on bringing as many new or gently used laptops and other educational devices as possible is supported in tandem by the services they provide, particularly through mentorship, tutoring, and other academic services. By addressing inequitable access to learning and ensuring access to technology and connectivity, Bridging Tech is working to not only shape and set up for success the future leaders of our community, but solving a problem that matters.

According to the National Center for Homeless Education, public schools identified 1,099,221 students who experienced homelessness during the 2020-2021 school year – an annual increase of 4%. As a result, K-12 students experiencing homelessness carry greater risk of irreversible impacts on their academic, emotional, and social development.

While students experiencing homelessness may physically be present at school, our digitally dominated world — and the subsequent lack of accessibility to the same technological tools and resources as their peers — prevents the breaking of the cycle of poverty.

If you’d like to make a donation to Bridging Tech, there are a few different options for you to do so:

  1. Donate a device: Click here to donate a gently used personal or corporate device through Bridging Tech’s affiliation with Computers 2 Kids.
  2. Make a monetary donation: Click here to purchase a new device through a one-time donation or recurring pledge. One laptop is purchased for every $100 donated. Donations may also be made via Venmo (@BridgingTech) or through PayPal®.
  3. Shop using Amazon Smile: Amazon Smile is the charity arm of Amazon.com, Inc. Simply shop on smile.amazon.com and select Bridging Tech Charitable Fund (EIN: 85-1031712) as your charity of choice. With each purchase you make, a small portion will be donated to Bridging Tech – at no cost to you.
