Washington Adopts Remote Online Notarization
on April 15, 2019

Just four months into 2019, Washington is now the ninth state this year to pass a remote online notarization bill.
Governor Jay Inslee added his signature to Senate Bill 5641, certifying that the Evergreen State will bring the benefits of RON to an additional 74,000 notaries beginning October 1, 2020.
Below are the states that have passed RON bills since Virginia, and are blazing the trail for how we verify trust and identity on the Internet.
- Montana
- Texas
- Nevada
- Indiana
- Tennessee
- Minnesota
- Vermont
- Michigan
- Ohio
- North Dakota
- South Dakota
- Idaho
- Kentucky
- Utah
- Arizona
- Maryland
Just last month we published the official book on remote online notarization. More than 1,000 people have downloaded it, and the rate at which RON is being adopted mirrors some of the fastest public policy adoption our country has ever seen.
