Notarize Welcomes Roger Ferguson to Our Board of Directors

Today, we’re thrilled to announce that Roger W. Ferguson, Jr. has joined the Notarize Board of Directors. Roger is one of the most respected executives in financial services and he has an extraordinary reputation of both success and empathetic leadership in the private sector, coupled with a distinguished track record in the public sector.

Roger’s inimitable career spans more than four decades, and he most recently spent 13 years as President and CEO of TIAA, the leading retirement services company that has been a trusted partner to both Notarize and to millions of Americans through multiple phases of their financial lives. Roger was at the helm of TIAA through both the global financial crisis of 2008-2009 and the beginning of the COVID pandemic, where he led 17,000 global employees through yet another period of uncertainty and change. Roger was also previously Vice Chair of the Federal Reserve, where he served from 1997 to 2006, and led the Fed’s response to the 9/11 attacks.

Very few people have a purview of both the challenges and opportunities of change and transformation like Roger - and for that and many other reasons, we’re thrilled to welcome him to the Notarize Board of Directors as we continue on our mission to bring trust to life’s most important transactions.

Ushering In Notarize’s Next Phase With The Right Partner

Roger’s appointment comes on the heels of a year of unprecedented growth for Notarize. As COVID-19 accelerated the rapid digitization of industries and online commerce, we saw revenue soar 600% YoY and saw a remarkable increase in volume across all sectors we serve, including 800+% growth in real estate and 300+% growth in financial services. To further fuel this growth, we announced a $130M Series D funding announcement in March to continue to scale and expand our platform to meet the demands of tomorrow’s economy - across all sectors to serve consumers, SMBs, and Fortune 500 enterprises.

“The last 18 months have proven that there’s incredible market demand for the technology Notarize pioneered. Pat and the Notarize team created this category and firmly hold the market-leading position, and their technology has been validated at scale, even among the most sophisticated financial firms” said Mr. Ferguson. “I’m excited about the present, but I am also excited about what the longer-term future holds for Notarize as they move beyond notarization and tackle the complexities of secure digital identity.”

Roger is one of the most proven leaders in financial services, and his decades of experience in government policy give him a unique perspective to contribute to Notarize as we move through this next phase of growth - and beyond. Roger’s deep knowledge about the industries we serve and the challenges and opportunities in innovation and digital transformation makes him an invaluable addition to our team.  Equally important, Roger also shares our vision for what the world could look like if there was more diversity and inclusion, and if access to digital services was better and easier for all. We’re excited to work alongside Roger to rewire industries, close the digital divide, and pull the future closer.

In his next chapter, Roger will influence the future of fintech and continue to serve as a member of other boards, including Alphabet, Blend, General Mills, the Institute for Advanced Study and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
