Notarize Wins Inaugural LendingTree Innovation Challenge at Digital Mortgage Conference 2018

Notarize began with the goal of making the notary process simpler. We built Notarize for Mortgage to provide the missing link in the complete digital mortgage experience, and our peers rewarded us with ”Best in Show” at Digital Mortgage Conference 2017.
But we didn’t see the award as the end of our journey. We saw it as just the beginning.
And it seems the industry agrees. We are proud to announce that Notarize took first place in the inaugural LendingTree Innovation Challenge at Digital Mortgage Conference 2018.
Notarize also has the chance to take home “Best in Show” for a second consecutive year. Voting for conference attendees opened following the Innovation Challenge, and the results are expected to be announced in the coming days.
“Winning an award at Digital Mortgage Conference two years in a row is validation of our team’s tireless effort to make notarization a quick, simple, and readily accessible process,” said Adam Pase, COO and Co-Founder of Notarize. “The field of 30-plus entrants featured a number of genuinely thoughtful, well-designed solutions to industry headaches. We are incredibly honored to come out on top.”
Our 8-minute demonstration featured two announcements regarding the Notarize for Mortgage platform. The first is called Notarize Connect.
Clarity and Flexibility for Every Closing
Closing on a home is one of life’s most stressful moments. Traditional paper closings are 280 pages, making it very easy to overlook or confuse details. If there’s a misunderstanding at the closing table, an already stressful moment only gets worse.
The customer experience is a difference-maker for companies, and no moment is more important than the signer’s moment of need. If something seems amiss while you close, Notarize Connect will connect you with up to five people - your loan officer, real estate agent, title agent, and others - through a phone call or two-way audio/video connection within the Notarize for Mortgage platform.
Notarize enables signers to close from anywhere at any time on any device, but we believe industry professionals deserve the same flexibility. Notarize Connect will notify members of a signer’s team when a closing is scheduled, begins, and ends, enabling all parties to live their lives and conduct their business without being tethered to a desk.
The second announcement has to do with who can use the Notarize for Mortgage platform.
We know that not every loan today can be closed online. Some loans still need to be wet signed, but that shouldn’t inhibit a mostly-digital experience for consumers and lenders alike. So we are proud to announce that Notarize and Notarize Connect now support every closing type - paper, hybrid, or online.
Following our demonstration, the panel of judges had nothing but praise.
“Great presentation. Meeting the industry on their terms while also innovating and really, truly helping the transaction is not easy to do. I’m impressed.” -- Julian Hebron, Founder and CEO, The Basis Point
“I was very impressed and did not see anything that was lacking.” -- Kathy Robinson, Owner, Winchester Management Consultants, LLC
“Online closings 24/7 - really like that. Where and when the consumer wants, and on their terms - love that.” -- Bruce Cook, Senior Vice President of Business Development, LendingTree
We're Just Getting Started
We’ve long believed that notarization should be convenient, secure, and verifiable, and we’re proud to help usher the notary process into the 21st century. We are grateful for the positive affirmation we’ve received from our partners, members of the mortgage community, and beyond.
Winning the Innovation Challenge at Digital Mortgage Conference 2018 is both an honor and a responsibility, and we take neither lightly. The award represents a duty to provide our customers with the best closing experience possible, and we're excited about the opportunities that lay ahead.
We look forward to competing again next fall at Digital Mortgage Conference 2019. The mortgage space is evolving rapidly, and we know it’ll be quite the challenge.
But this isn’t the end of our journey. It’s just the beginning.
