Notarize Welcomes Matt Cameron as Head of Financial Services Policy
Notarize is thrilled to welcome Matt Cameron as Head of Financial Services Policy. Matt joins the Notarize Public Affairs team where he will manage the company’s financial services public policy initiatives and serve as chief spokesperson to the industry.
Matt has spent more than a decade working in public service and joins Notarize following a nine-year career at the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) serving under both Democratic and Republican administrations as Assistant Director in the Office of Stakeholder Management. While at the CFPB, he was responsible for overseeing all of the bureau’s relationships with external stakeholders ranging from Members of Congress and their staff to Attorneys General and other intergovernmental partners. Matt is an expert in consumer finance policy, external stakeholder engagement, and partnership development.
“Since Notarize was founded in early 2016, we have worked with our partners in the real estate industry to help advance Remote Online Notarization (RON) laws in states throughout the U.S., and we’re proud to be both a product and policy-led organization. With Matt on board, his insights and policy expertise will help us expand these partnerships into other areas of financial services on a broader scale,” said Pat Kinsel, CEO of Notarize. “We couldn’t be more excited to have him join us on this journey.”
Over the past year, Notarize has seen our revenue increase by over 600% year over year; our efforts to establish a clear regulatory framework have been central to this growth. As Notarize continues to grow, we remain committed to working with our industry and government partners to build on these regulatory accomplishments and continue our work transforming how we verify identities online. As a champion for consumer protections within financial services, Matt will be at the leading edge in our continued efforts to deliver even more for our consumers and notaries, from data privacy and accessibility to closing the digital divide.
“As Notarize continues to work with our industry and government partners to establish new laws and regulations and develop new ways to verify identities online, Matt will help ensure that consumer protection and civil rights organizations continue to be a part of these important conversations,” said Nicole Booth, EVP of Public Affairs at Notarize.
“Matt’s years of experience in government service will help Notarize develop new industry partnerships in financial services and broaden our efforts to collaborate with our public sector partners,” said Charlie DeVries, Director of Public Sector Relations, Public Affairs at Notarize.
Notarize has empowered hundreds of thousands of American consumers with convenient access to online notarizations, the key to verifying identities and unlocking life’s most important transactions. As we continue to explore new ways to deliver for consumers and notaries, Matt’s experience will be instrumental in guiding Notarize forward.
