Kentucky Passes Remote Online Notarization Bill
More than four million notaries across the country are seeking ways to transform their business with new technology to serve life’s most important transactions.
Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin has officially signed Senate Bill 114 into law, granting the state's 80,000 notaries the ability to perform remote online notarizations. The bill is the fourth RON bill to be enacted in 2019, following bills in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Idaho.
With nearly half the country is looking to pass similar laws, remote online notarization is now the foundation for trillion-dollar industries. From real estate to wealth management, businesses across the country are adopting this technology to meet consumer demands.
“We’re seeing incredible advocacy for remote online notarization across the country,” said Notarize CEO and Founder Pat Kinsel. “Just a few years ago, there were only a few states that had passed legislation. Today, states view RON as a way to better serve their citizens.”
We expect Nebraska, Arizona, and Washington to be next up to pass RON bills of their own.
