Credible Witness
A person who verifies the identity of a signer that cannot otherwise be properly identified. The most common use case of a credible witness for online notarizations is on behalf of a signer who does not have a U.S. Social Security Number, and therefore cannot generate KBA questions. The credible witness would personally complete KBA and credential analysis prior to validating the signer's identity before a notary.
