Notarize Teams with Friends of the Children to Bridge Digital Divides

One of our core values at Notarize is "Yes before No," embracing the power of positivity to effect lasting change. We believe our work is creating a better future by building products that promote accessibility and convenience to manual, in-person processes that still hold importance in our everyday lives.

As part of that effort, one of our big corporate initiatives is tied to the idea of "bridging the digital divide." It’s imperative that as part of our mission we work to ensure that everyone, regardless of background, can connect with their communities and access increasingly important digital services. Internet access – and all the tools and services it offers us – is not just a matter of convenience: it's an issue of safety and equity.

Which is why the Notarize was very excited recently to partner with Friends of the Children, a non-profit organization impacting generational change by empowering youth who are facing the greatest obstacles.

Our company’s passion for bridging the digital divide has only grown during the course of the COVID pandemic, as many schools across the country moved to remote-only models. If families don't have reliable Internet access and the equipment required to participate in a virtual classroom, how can their children have a positive and successful homeschooling experience?

Friends of the Children shares similar ambitions to support children who, even before the pandemic, were facing multiple systemic obstacles. One of the many ways Friends of the Children tackles inequities is by connecting children in marginalized communities with the tools and equipment they need for a positive and enriching homeschooling experience.

By matching our employee donations, Notarize raised $7,000 to provide desks, chairs, noise-cancelling headphones, and other supplies to students who must learn from home during the pandemic.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute in this small way to the Friends of the Children mission, and we’re always on the lookout for more ways to help bridge the digital divide in our communities.
