In the months leading up to the birth of our kiddo, I was having the most fun I’ve ever had at work. Notarize was growing like crazy and our technology truly helped make people’s lives easier in the middle of the global pandemic. Honestly, I had a bit of FOMO to take three months off work at such a pivotal time at our company. I feel so much gratitude to have felt that way. 

Today is an exciting day for Notarize! Not only is today our second annual Rewired conference, but it also marks the expansion for Notarize For Business, which allows any business or industry to bring their own notaries onto the Notarize platform to complete secure online notarizations and real estate closings.

For almost nine years, remote online notarization (RON) has been legal. RON gives anyone the ability to sign and notarize documents 100% online, connecting via a FaceTime-like experience with a commissioned notary 24x7. It really is a better, safer way of taking care of life's most important documents. Because consumers love it, we've seen the nation's top credit unions, such as BCU, roll out a digital notarization service to its members to close loans faster, and improve its operations.

We hear constantly that technology is simply a tool for fraud, but the truth of the matter is, fraudsters will try to cheat in any environment, paper or digital. It turns out that technology is one of our best tools in combating fraud.

When we announced our first ever conference, we couldn’t have imagined how many people would be interested in attending. Rewired is November 18 in Miami, Florida. At the time of this writing, we’re just about sold out, and are blown away by the caliber of speakers. Guaranteed Rate, Opendoor, Fannie Mae, Ginnie Mae – it’s set up to be a contender of conference of the year.

Notarize celebrated its 1,000th online mortgage transaction at the start of 2019, just 18 months after completing the first online closing in the country. We’re thrilled about the momentum we’re seeing in the market, including key partnerships with some of the leader in the mortgage industry.

This includes our friends at Redfin, whose agents recently sourced and funded a loan in less than two hours, performing one of the fastest online closings in the industry.
