The widespread impact of COVID-19 has empowered legislators, businesses, and individuals alike to reimagine the very notion of “work” in the digital economy. The notarial profession and the services it provides – often a key to life’s most important transactions — is no different.
Earlier this month, Oregon became the 35th state to enact permanent remote online notarization (RON) legislation when Governor Kate Brown signed Senate Bill 765 into law. This bill will provide the 39,000 notaries in Oregon access to a safe, secure, convenient, and legal way to notarize documents online.
Notarize applauds the Oregon Legislative Assembly and Governor Brown for their efforts, and is excited to continue our partnership with the Beaver State.
