1,000 Notarized Documents and Counting … Plus, New Desktop Version

It’s been a whirlwind since we launched Notarize on February 4. In our first six weeks, we’ve notarized over 1,000 documents, received more than 100 applications from notaries in Virginia (with many more expressing interest from other states), and have heard from countless companies who rely on notarized documents to operate. We’ve also heard many success stories from our notary agents in Virginia who have enabled some of life’s most important transactions.

We’ve been heads down, listening to feedback from our customers and agents alike and rapidly improving the product.

Today, we’re excited to announce Notarize for Desktop.

Hundreds of thousands of people turn to the Internet each month to search for a notary. While we believe Notarize for iPhone presents an incredibly convenient, on-demand experience, many people sit at their desk as they process paperwork and complete tasks. With Notarize for Desktop, we’re now only one click away.

Notarize for Desktop works exactly like our experience on the iPhone. You simply need to create an account, upload a document, validate your identity, and sign before a notary public over a live video call. One of our outstanding notaries will add their signature, seal, and digital certificate to the document and you’ll be on your way in a few minutes. Once your document is notarized you can download it, email it, print it, or send it automatically by mail from directly within the app.

Our desktop experience also represents an important step forward with many of the corporate partners we’ve been speaking with. We’ve heard from businesses that we need to serve their audience on more devices, and Notarize for Desktop represents a universal touch point that anyone can access from their desk at home or in the office. Stay tuned for more updates on our business partners in the near future.

We knew the notary world was in need of some technology-driven rethinking, but we’re amazed by the interest in our technology thus far. More importantly, we’ve already helped so many people execute some of the most important transactions of their lives, and we’ve heard some incredible stories along the way. One of my favorite stories to date has been the success a gentleman had living in Antarctica for his power of attorney documents … living thousands of miles away and he was able to use Notarize for a quick, convenient and secure notary transaction.

To our early customers, thanks for making our first six weeks so successful! We can’t wait to help you again in the future, and we’re excited about the opportunity to help even more people and businesses with Notarize for Desktop.

You have notarization questions, we have notarization answers. While we at Notarize pride ourselves on providing helpful resources (like this blog!) to demystify notarization, we’re not lawyers and don’t give legal advice. Pro tip: always check with your own attorneys, advisors, or document recipients if you have further questions about notarization or digitally notarized docs.

Rewired 2020 - Notarize is Pulling The Future Closer

Yesterday, we were thrilled to welcome 2,500+ attendees and 65+ amazing speakers virtually to Rewired 2020, our annual conference. If you missed it live, the conference will be available on-demand. More details coming soon!

At Notarize, our mission is “to pull the future closer” and we have been fighting for years to do just that. While COVID has been and continues to be devastating in so many ways, a silver lining is that it has served as a portal, transporting industries and processes into the future. We’re experiencing five years of innovation in five months. The future has truly been pulled closer.
